Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne School ladies’s tennis crew registered its third straight win with a 5-2 victory over Binghamton College on Tuesday afternoon on the Skytop Tennis Courts.
The Dolphins swept the doubles competitors for the sixth time this 12 months to take a 1-0 lead. Freshman Stella Simeonova (Sofia, Bulgaria/Nationwide Gymnasium of Arithmetic and Pure Sciences) and senior Francesca Lilliegren (Guayaquil, Ecuador/Colegio Alemán Humboldt Guayaquil) moved to 3-0 as a tandem with a 6-3 victory on the first place over Natalia Aruj and Loren Cuomo. Sophomore Isabella Barona (Manta, Ecuador/Talentos de Manta) and junior Fiona Pepper (Challapampa, Peru/Colegio Anglo Americano Prescott) additionally improved to 3-0 as a duo with a 6-3 win over Lara Kaplan and Caterina Casadei on the second spot. Freshmen Alicia Alvarez (Madrid, Spain/IES Ortega y Gasset) and Paula Casares (A Coruna, Spain/Colegio Maristas Cristo Rey) elevated their document to 7-1 by blanking Maria Pereira and Abby Ackroyd on the third place, 6-0.
Le Moyne took 4 of the six matches within the singles competitors to clinch the victory. Alvarez improved to 4-1 on the third place with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Casadei. Casares remained unbeaten on the marketing campaign (8-0) with a 6-2, 6-4 victory on the fourth spot over Pereira. Lilliegren registered back-to-back scores of 6-2 over Valeria Gonzalez on the fifth place. Pepper pushed her document to 8-1 on the 12 months with a 6-1, 6-0 victory on the sixth spot over Bridget Martin. Aruj was a 6-1, 6-2 win on the high place over Simeonova, whereas Kaplan tallied a 6-0, 6-3 win over Barona on the second spot.
Le Moyne (6-3) returns to NE10 motion on Saturday at Adelphi College at 12:00 p.m.
